Here’s a preview of some of the cars on display at the 2012 Nagoya Exciting Car Showdown, which starts tomorrow morning.
I was in there tonight setting up my car on the Missile stand, so I thought I’d run around quickly and get some pics before they kicked us out for the night.

Heres part two of what I saw at the Hellaflush event at Fuji Speedway. Overall, it seemed to be a very enjoyable event. Something about it just felt a bit “fresher” than the usual sort of VIP or dress-up-car events you see here.
Of course, I’ll take a drifting event any day of the week, so here’s Miura-san’s FR-converted WRX drift wagon.

I was out until all hours the night before, but I still managed to make it out to Fuji Speedway yesterday to catch a bit of the Hellafush show held around the back of the main stands.

Those of you who subscribed to the Noriyaro Facebook page might have noticed a few mobile uploads from the Exciting Car Showdown in Nagoya on the weekend. While I was in Kansai for another reason and didn’t have my proper camera on me, I still managed to head out and snap a few pics.

So, today was the first day of the 2010 Tokyo Autosalon. Like last year, I wasn’t there to cover it in the traditional photojournalist day. I was helping out the guys from Auto Salon Magazine (this causes some confusion here sometimes) with translation and things like that.
I still took my camera along though. It was only the little P6000, but it did the job.
Here’s some things at the show I thought were cool.

Last weekend, I drove up to Ebisu Circuit to watch the D1 Street Legal round that was held on the Minami Course, the same as is used in D1.
Unfortunately, you won’t be seeing any photos of that here! I decided to spend the day as a regular-old spectator instead, something I’ve never done before at a D1 event.
I have to say, it’s a lot more fun than peering through a camera all day, and lugging around a heavy backpack full of equipment.
What I did take some photos of was the Super Night Meeting held the night before. This is a car show put on by Ebisu Circuit in the Minami pits, that centers around the cruising-type of modified cars, such as this slammed Suzuki Wagon R.
Of course, since it was at Ebisu, there was a just a little bit of drifting as well!

A couple of days ago, some rotary freaks from Belgium sent me an email asking for information about this Mazda Famila, with a photo taken by Ben from Japanese Nostalgic Car attached to it.
“Didn’t I already post a few pics of that car already?” I thought.
Sure enough, I’d posted about the Euro and American cars at the 2009 Time Machine Festival, and I’d definitely posted about the Fairladys that were there, as well as a put up a panorama photo of the meeting, but I’d completely forgotten to upload the rest of the photos I took!

Walking from the parking lot up to the pit area in the rain after just paying a rather hefty entry fee made us doubt the effort we made to get all the way to Fuji Speedway so early in the morning.
Walking into the first pit display put aside all those doubts.
