GYARUTEN: Girl drifter-only Ikaten at Fuji Speedway, Part II
May 28, 2010 12:44 pmMore from the Fuji Speedway Gyaruten!
Sacchan’s team dressed up as maids for the driver introductions, but Sacchan kept her outfit on all day.
OK, you’re probably sick of peace signs by now, so here’s a thumbs-up from Kunny and Kawasaki-san.
Of course, the event was being filmed by Drift Tengoku for their DVDs, so you’re going to have to get the DVD if you want to see what happened.
Here’s all the teams at the end of the day with Dorikin.
He wore these weird sunglasses that looked like a censor bar.
Sacchan and Dorikin.
Is that dog in the background taking a dump?
The 40 Over’s with Nomuken, who looks like he’d much rather be surrounded by some younger girls. They did win Nomuken’s special team award though. 仕方ナカッ!!
Here’s the Shinshu Matsumotojo team. A lot of these team name jokes don’t really make sense unless you understand Japanese, but I’ll try to explain it.
Shinshu is the region that the famous Matsumoto Castle is in (you can see it on the team board), and the “jo” in “Matsumotojo” means “castle”.
They’ve replaced it with the character for “girl”, which can also be pronounced “jo”.
It’s supposed to be “Matsumoto Castle”, but it’s actually read “Matsumoto Girls”.
Get it?
It was an all-girl event, so Taniguchi was there too.
Sacchan’s team was called “Cheichigo Girls”, because the team had one Chaser and two S15 Silvias.
This all-hachiroku driving team was called “T-50 Vivian Soul”, a combination of all the drivers’ own teams.
Mana-P? Mana Peace!
Never letting an opportunity to improve pass, Shino asked Mana-P how she could improve her driving.
To be honest, I thought Shino was the best individual driver on the day, but they were only awarding prizes for team driving.
Nomuken signs the back of the 40 Over’s team board.
Ikaten was some of the best fun I’ve ever had at a drift event. Next time though, I’ll have to try and get into the actual driving part of the day. Perhaps I should put together an all-gaijin team?
