I made another video like last week’s one. This time, its from the helmet-cam of Team Orange’s Naoto Suenaga at Ebisu Circuit’s Higashi Course. Enjoy the ride!
Just to compare, here’s a video of me doing the same course in the wet in my R32 practice car. A bit of a difference in speed, isn’t there?
Here we go again, off to Ebisu for another Drift Matsuri, armed only with a phone camera and not much motivation to use it, because actually drifting is more fun. I headed up early Friday morning for the G1GP, which has now become a pre-matsuri staple event.
Posts have been a bit lacking recently, and since I’ve taken a short trip back to Australia, new posts might get even more sparse until early next month when I get back to Japan.
I’m still doing plenty of car-related stuff though, such as attending last weekend’s World Time Attack Challenge at Eastern Creek Raceway/Sydney Motorsport Park, where I was helping out Team Orange. Here’s a pic of Orange’s Naoto Suenaga admiring a Holden ute. Could he possibly be thinking of building up one of these back home at Ebisu Circuit? Suenaga also managed to take out the drifting competition at the WTAC event, so it would be good to see Team Orange attend next year’s event as well, if possible.
Until posting regularity starts to build up again a bit, why not try going back through some of the Noriyaro archives in the meantime? Click on the “previous month” tab and pick an old one at random.
Since it’s Friday, I’m guessing some of you were looking forward to another Noriyaro Raw video. Unfortunately, I’ve completely run out of new footage to use! So, the question I have is, did you enjoy the videos more than the usual photos? More videos? More of everything? More of something in particular? Send me an email to the address there on the right or leave a comment if there’s something you’d like to say.
In the meantime, here’s few behind-the-scenes pics from when I was covering the campaign of international drivers at the Odaiba round of D1 Grand Prix, which you can read about here on the Yokohama Australia website.
I often receive emails saying that I’m “living the dream” doing all this stuff over here in Japan, but here’s a guy who is really living the drifting dream. All this week, I’ll be covering Australian driver Jake “DriftSquid” Jones, who is at Ebisu Circuit at the moment getting ready to compete in the Odaiba round of D1GP this weekend in this Team Orange Impreza!
Here’s a pic of Team Orange “satellite driver” Tomohiro Ooshima doing some pretty loose drifting along the front straight at Higashi Course at the last Drift Matsuri. The best part of watching in the low evening light was his extremely sketchy dirt drop entries. Sparky sparky!
