Here’s another video from the summer Drift Matsuri at Ebisu Circuit. In this one, I hit up Higashi Course in my R32 Skyline with D1GP driver Suenaga and D1SL driver Waki as it was starting to dry out a little bit.

Here we go again, off to Ebisu for another Drift Matsuri, armed only with a phone camera and not much motivation to use it, because actually drifting is more fun. I headed up early Friday morning for the G1GP, which has now become a pre-matsuri staple event.

Ebisu Circuit : RUN THE WALL from Luke Huxham on Vimeo.
Remember this post about the “Let’s Go Bancho Ketteisen” at Ebisu Circuit? Well, there’s some video of it, as well as my Mark II in a very filthy state, in the latest Driftcolors video.
Now I know how my exhaust got so bent up.

At Ebisu’s Drift Matsuri, the tradition is that they run a small competition on the Sunday morning. The format is usually something along the lines of solo runs or co-operative tandems on a section of track not normally used for competitions just to make it interesting, and it’s usually judged by a couple of D1 drivers, like Drift Samurai and Naoto Suenaga as seen in this pic. At the last Spring Matsuri, rather than use the usual corner at the bottom of the hill on Minami course, the comp was on what’s known as the “Let’s Go” corner up the top of the track, so named due to its blind crest and generally high speed required to clear it in one go. As a result, the competition was called “Let’s Go Bancho Ketteisen” which sort of means “Boss of Let’s Go Corner; Deciding Battle”.

The winner of the comp was…me! The prizes were supplied by Astro Tools, and I ended up with a rather nice foldable padded creeper mat, which is perfect for working underneath cars on the rough asphalt found in the pits of just about every drift circuit in the country.
Everyone was going at it pretty hard. About two laps before this happened, I was right behind this guy! As a bonus, have a look at Stewy’s crack. Geez, can the Australians who come to Matsuri please try and keep their bums in their pants if possible?

Back the next day for some more action at Spring Drift Matsuri 2006! The place with all the craziest action is usually Minami.

Since most of my interesting photos from last weekend’s Drift Matsuri are already spoken for, by which I mean the ones without arses in them, here’s some pics from the 2006 Spring Drift Matsuri at Ebisu Circuit, the first one I ever attended.
This is my Australian friend Josh getting his AE86 ready behind some wheels I posed for this shot, since I was hoping the article would run in a magazine, which it did.

DriftColors.com : Episode 2 – Ebisu Circuit Meet The Drivers Part 1 from Luke Huxham on Vimeo.
So maybe you already saw the first episode of Luke Huxham’s DriftColors, but here’s where it starts to get a bit more interesting. This time, Luke (behind the camera) shot interviews of some of the weirdos who show up there to slide around and make noise out in the countryside.
My hair doesn’t look like that any more though.

Oh yeah! It’s time for Noriyaro in narcissism mode! Only pics of me at Spring Drift Matsuri from now on!
Of course, we have to start with some drift posing. I had just given the paint a bit of a buff the night before too, so the car was all nice and shiny. It might seem a bit pointless considering the front bumper, but you have to keep the car looking good where you can.
