TIME MACHINE FESTIVAL 2009: The Japanese contingent
June 10, 2009 12:30 amA couple of days ago, some rotary freaks from Belgium sent me an email asking for information about this Mazda Famila, with a photo taken by Ben from Japanese Nostalgic Car attached to it.
“Didn’t I already post a few pics of that car already?” I thought.
Sure enough, I’d posted about the Euro and American cars at the 2009 Time Machine Festival, and I’d definitely posted about the Fairladys that were there, as well as a put up a panorama photo of the meeting, but I’d completely forgotten to upload the rest of the photos I took!
So, here they are!
Yeah, I think I know why they were interested in it.
Honda S800 coupe.
L-series Kenmeri.
I remember seeing a photo of this R100 looking exactly like this in a magazine several years ago.
It still has the original 10A…
…and the owner isn’t afraid to use it.
The Sunny “railway sleeper” front spoilers look pretty cool.
I’ll have to find out one day why almost every TE Corolla you see in Japan is wearing olive green paint.
Not that I’m complaining!
I’m having a late-night moment right now…is that a Renault?
Lancer Turbo.
What’s a classic Japanese car show without Skylines? Choose your favourite. Race style…
…or street.
How about some 80’s Panasport love?
This guy had a massive turbo on this R31. It was at least as twice as fast as all the other cars on the front straight.
Anyway, better late than never! Hope you enjoyed it.

:DROOOOOOOOOL: Beautiful skylines :DROOOOOOOOOL:
Great pics. I love old jap cars and they are in so much better shape then the american cars of the same age
Its not a Renault though I don’t know what it is!
it may be a alfa?
cool pics.
I believe the blue car is an Isuzu Bellet.
Im lovin those old Corolla’s. Man i want one.
Sooooo many awesome cars!
Maybe the green scheme is a Toyota thing… Soarers always seem to be green.
Man, I love how they still bring their classics out and drive them hard in the weather, just proper!
Awesome stuff like always!
Thanks for this one. Actually made my blog-reading session for the day.
Definitely not an Alfa.
I dunno if that R100 is the real car, or if it’s a replica of one of the original R100s that Mazda campaigned in Europe:

But yes the blue mystery car is an Isuzu Bellett GTR.
@ Rob : actually, I think Corolla Race War Scheme is white, or at least, used to be. Still, I’ven’t any more intels about the Olive Green.
Awesome post!!!! i love vintage
I used to own a yeller Mazda 1300 coupe, the ‘civilian’ version of the R100. Sold it before you were ever born and you’ve still never forgiven me! Your grandmother owned an RX-2 4-door when she was in her sixties. She was done for speeding several times by the cops near Bathurst and Orange. It’s in your genes…. you can’t help yourself!
@grant
Yeah, it’s a Bellet, which is why I must have sorted it into the Japanese pile back when I was going through the photos.
@PU#1
That’s my Dad, in case anyone was wondering.
Just wanted to say thanks for this absolutely great post!
