TOYOTA HISTORY GARAGE: AE86 display
January 30, 2010 1:56 pmAs I mentioned a couple of posts ago, Autosalon week meant visiting a lot of different places around Tokyo. Since the majority of the people I was with had never been to Tokyo, I thought the Toyota Megaweb and Toyota History Garage in Odaiba might be a good place to visit.
Nice little display eh? A mint red Levin they used to display beside the FT-86 a couple of months ago, Toyohisa Matsuda’s old competition car and Takumi’s toufu-ten replica, complete with tofu shop!
I think there was a mint Hakosuka off to the left as well. The Toyota History Garage is always fun.

Such hot cars, and only one tiny little photo 🙁
Full of win! I <3 Hachi-Roku
were there other toyotas too ?
The fact that there are so many Tofu-ten replicas out there just speaks to how much Initial D has been absorbed into the national culture.
Of course, this is the same country that erected life-sized replicas of Tetsujin-28 and a Gundam…
Gotta love the AE86!! 🙂
Argh, wish they had all that stuff when we were there only a few months ago! I would have loved to have seen the FT-86 in the flesh actually.
Anyone going over to Tokyo for a holiday, I highly recommend checking out those places in Odaiba!
i went on monday and it was closed 🙁
I loved History Garage but wish that 86 display had been there at the time.

lol. yeah come on alexi, more pics mate.
i’d kill for a trueno as clean as that white one. complete with tofu signage! ha
The history garage was awesome when I visited it but back in 2008 Matsuda’s car was definitely not there. The mint Hako around the corner from there was great too. On the way out there were a few displays of toys and models that didn’t seem all that common that you could buy.
They had Ueno’s yellow AE86 there couple of weeks ago aswell. And a 20V with quads just sitting on a engine stand in the corner *drools!*
I didnt even realise this place existed , then stumbled on it when I tried to take a short cut after visiting the toyota museum and got lost in the massive shopping centre there!
That mint red Levin is gorgeous. I can’t get enough of it.
oo is that an initial d rep I see?
And I just preordered Initial D Third Stage the other day. Awesomeness.
