Here we go again, off to Ebisu for another Drift Matsuri, armed only with a phone camera and not much motivation to use it, because actually drifting is more fun. I headed up early Friday morning for the G1GP, which has now become a pre-matsuri staple event.
Thanks to Japanese Youtuber D1Perfect, we have some pretty comprehensive coverage of the recent G1 Grand Prix, even though Drift Tengoku DVD didn’t come along like they did last time!
It’s Drift Matsuri time again! Once again, unfortunately for you guys, I spent more time messing around behind the wheel than I did holding a camera.
I guess that makes these pictures all the more special.
This time around, the G1 Grand Prix event was held on the Friday rather than the end of the event on Sunday, so I left for Fukushima on Thursday afternoon. First though, it was into the local Super Autobacs for some foaming window cleaner and a spare exhaust gasket.
The latest drift Tengoku DVD came out yesterday, and it contains the all-foreigner G1 Grand Prix event segment that I posted about last month.
Benny Mack asked what he should do if his car didn’t have enough power to link the course. Kumakubo responded by making a violent kicking motion with his left foot.
Just like last time, I spent the night in the car. The Mark II is a bit roomier than the Skyline was though. That’s an orange tarpaulin over the windscreen, if you were wondering.
