THE NIGHT BEFORE: You’ve all been here, I’m sure
November 13, 2009 8:00 pmYou’re all going to have to wait until next week to hear about the little competition I’m running. I’ve been working as well as getting ready for Ebisu’s Drift Matsuri this weekend, which I should have already left for if it weren’t for a little problem I had.
Let’s just say that I’ve learned a lot about 1JZ coilpacks in the past couple of days.
At least you can look forward to some photos from Matsuri next week.

JZ coilpacks are a pain… i replaced mine last June, as I had some serious misfiring problems….
Turns out one of the coilpack was worn…

What time of building are you working on your car in? Or is it outside? Office chair. haha Nice picture.
I haven’t had any coil problems in 5 years of JZX100 ownership, but it seems so common. Surely can’t be worse than RB’s…… they really bite.
That looks cool, need more action shots n vids of it! 😀
reeeaallly looking forward to matsuri photos 😀
Haha, good luck, hopefully everything ran well 🙂
Definitely been there the night before with equipment failure. Good Luck !!
vvt-i 1jz coil packs = one big pain in the arse
Any problems with JZ ? I know that JZ is very good and reliable motor. My friend have JZX110 markII with 1jz-gte.
And i have very important question for me. Thats because i have Toyota Altezza i like to see them on photos. But i read almost all your posts and there is no photos with drifting altezza`s. Are they not so popular like a drift car?
So you don’t compete or not?
Wow, seems like only yesterday we were there at Summer Matsuri drifting the North Course in the 32 in the pouring rain…
How Time Flys…
Best of luck, have fun!!! 🙂
Ah, yes. Pulling all-nighter’s and trying to catch a nap thirty minutes before departure, then sleeping inbetween runs.
