YOU WISH: Garage SunRise
December 18, 2008 12:30 am
Tetsuya Hibino’s character on D1 videos might be one of a rude, slang-talking tough guy, but in reality he’s anything but hard to talk to. That is, if you can understand his rapidfire “ittara” Nagoya accent and can keep up with his dictionary-like knowlege of the Toyota AE86 and how to drift it.
Let me read your mind: “I wish my garage looked like that.”
Just in case it wasn’t obvious enough in the first picture, this is the famous “jumping car” from 2004 Ebisu D1 Grand Prix that came second to Nomuken’s Blitz works R34 GT-t after a couple of re-runs.
The duct tape reads “TRD five speed”, “TRD five speed, third gear broken” and “TRD five speed maybe”.
Supplies of Dunlop Direzza tyres for Hibino’s SR20-powered D1 car.

looks like there is probably at least ONE full ae86 exterior on the walls.
very nice.
Hibino is pretty rad.. Nice DA sticker BRO!
His choice of footwear however is mega nerd…. Nice dyke sandals dude!

Holy garage full of history, so much cool stuff in a few of these photos! Top feature.
OH GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i got so much luv for that car
Rad… you read my mind over the internet.
He actually asked me if you could buy these in Australia. I didn’t have the heart to say “not unless they were in rainbow colours for little girls”.
Tough guys wear toe socks. You heard it here first.
Also, unlike many other Japanese workshops, he keeps the shop’s office a shoe-free zone, which explains the choice of footwear.
hibino is definitely one of the top d1 drifters there is ive seen an interview on a dvd i cnt remember the name of lol he was very down to earth and seemed like a great guy to kick it with as you said so unlike his drift “character”
heres another example of hibino getting airborne to this time at the awesome meihan
