PEER PRESSURE: Closer to the wall please, Mr JZX81
May 8, 2009 12:30 amThis JZX81 is actually pretty close to the camera, but the wide-angle lens makes it look further than it is.
The following video should give you an idea about how close it was…
Did I mention that the guy who drives this Cresta rolls a wheelchair? The car has hand controls for the accelerator and brakes. So what’s your excuse?

Glad you mentioned the chair Alexi.
There is no excuse when it comes to doing what we love.
True inspiration.
Hey put me on your blog roll mang… racingotaku.wordpress.com
I drive FF. That’s my excuse for now. But one of these days, there will be none, and I will know how to properly drift.
Question: How’s the rally scene in Japan?
I saw the guy getting out of his car at Tsukuba. Hand controlled drift FTW!
I miss you Alexi!
Nikko was an Amazing track to visit. It had been a favorite of mine for years now, and to have seen it and been on it was a huge pleasure.
Keep up the great posts!
That is rad and inspirational. I drift as much as I can; but tyres are expensive so I mainly practice in the rain… That’s my excuse… When I sell my house I’ll have more $ for tyres 😉
he’d be really good on a playstation
good on the guy nothing should stop u doin wat u like to do that was insane and the car looked awesome
Nice video Alexi, got any pics of me in the Chaser ridin’ shotgun?
WOW! 7 cars next to the wall in close succession! seen stuff like that before but not that close! that vid+the awesome sounds of their engines makes me desperately wanna go to japan now!!!! love it!!
props for the hand controls too!
Is the guy in the JZX81 the same guy who had his JZX100 featured in HPI…and it was then later written off on a touge run somewhere? I think his name was Yoshi…
@Adam
I don’t have one maing!
@Johnny Rumble
Can’t claim to know a whole lot about it, but short, circuit-style rally stages are a popular thing over here. I might happen to be at one in the future, but no promises.
@DiscoQuinn
Canadians are creepy.
@Damo
Nope!
@Pete
That’s Yoshi Shinya, a different person. There’s quite a few wheelchair drift guys over here.
Cresta, not Chaser ;).

OK OK, geez…
nice one kid. ive driven a hand controlled car, not an easy task. well it is, if your driving slow like my mum.
would take some serious hand co-ordination to drift….awesome
