6 Commentsドリ天川崎さん、どうしたの?
This is Drift Tengoku magazine’s JZX100 Cresta (seen in better times about three-quarters the way down in this post). Can you spot what’s wrong with it? This isn’t my photo, so I’ll try and find out what happened.
Speaking of Drift Tengoku, I know that a lot of you are still keen to get the mag sent out. Just as I was sorting out packaging supplies and whatnot recently, Japan Post announced that they were no longer going to accept non-account-holder airmail packages to the USA that were over 453g (one pound), due to concern about explosives being sent by air. Considering your average Doriten weighs about that much, and that a fair bulk of orders were going to be from the USA, that kind of threw a spanner into things. Luckily, Japan Post repealed this condition just over a week ago, so things are once again going to go ahead.
16 CommentsBack to the Toyota meeting then.
I mean, 2PD meeting.
12 CommentsEven though I’m more of a clutch man myself, I headed out to Fuji Speedway’s Drift Circuit recently for the annual “2PD” meeting, which is open only to slushbox drifters!
14 CommentsIt seems a lot of you really seemed to like the Yaruki Mate! Cresta drifter from the other day, so I dug this one out of the archives of a drift event at Fuji Speedway from a few years ago.
A nice GX71 with widened steelies, bolt-on overfenders, Hakosuka tail and fake oil cooler finished off in Pocari Sweat blue!
Maniacs might notice that this one is the zenki model with the SOHC 1G-E and seperate quad headlights, rather than the integrated quads seen on the kouki model in the previous post.
12 CommentsSo, the last several posts were all about girl drifters. Let’s move onto the most manly thing we can find: a four-door Toyota kyusha.
21 CommentsThe 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon week is over. I’ve spent the last week with the Autosalon magazine guys from Australia, as well as the tour group they brought with them. To see a bit of what we got up to, have a look at Charles Kha’s blog and photographer Mark Pakula’s blog.
So why am I posting pics of a mashed-up Cresta instead of some pics I took? A couple of days ago, there was an Ikaten competition at Okegawa Sports Land held by Drift Tengoku video. Okegawa is actually the closest circuit to my house, so of course I sent in an entry to appear in the segment. Unfortunately, there are a hell of a lot of drivers and teams in my local area, and I would have had to work anyway. Never mind.

12 CommentsPracticing close drifting inevitably results in damage. Repainting and restickering panels costs money, as does replacing suspension parts, and extra usage of a stressed race engine will only shorten its lifespan.
What’s the best way for a high-level driver to get in some practice without the equally high repair bills?
Drift a missile!
