Enough teasing, let’s start with the 2010 1JZ Meeting videos!

HoonTV’s Mark Boxer will be releasing the rest of the parts soon, which he says will come even sooner if you click the subscribe button, so do us a favour, because I want to see them too!

Also, if you click the Youtube logo to view the video on Youtube, it’s available in 720p res.

Just as a note, the thing Jean-Claude Van Damme says on the Black Black ad is “眠気スッキリ”, which means “It clears your drowsiness!”

1000JZ: One motor meeting preview

Remember the short video of the 2010 1JZ Meeting I put up a while ago? Perhaps you were wondering why it wasn’t a bit more in-depth than it could have been?

Well, I have your answer.

Mark Boxer of Hoon Media, who has already been making motoring videos professionally for some years now, is launching a new Youtube channel. Boxer’s videos will cover the Japanese stuff that we like, as well as muscle, bikes, oldschool and offroad.

The first thing to look forward to is the complete 2010 1JZ Meeting video, which Boxer says he will be uploading sometime soon! Of course, I’ll be posting relevant videos up on this site, but be sure to subscribe (either follow the link at the end of the video, or click here) so you don’t miss out on any new videos.

WEEKEND EDITION: 2010 1JZ Meeting video preview from Hoon Media

So, we all know the type of drifting video that’s popular these days? You know, like lots of focus pulls, weeds blowing in the breeze, vignettes and shots of people doing random things set to some music that the kids like this week?

At least nobody is using Linkin Park or Drowning Pool any more.

Mark Boxer, the editor of Phat Sliggity DVD, put this oh-so-artistic teaser together of the segment he’s making of the video he shot at the 2010 1JZ Meeting when he had a few spare minutes. Don’t worry, the real video will be along the lines of a normal video, with people talking and engine sounds. Mostly 1JZs, come to think of it. Check out my new pink Alliance Speedmetal helmet with custom visor print supplied by the guys at AFG Moto here in Tokyo. Thanks Akira and Jason!

Making Phat Sliggity 2 with lots of content from Japan is still a big possibility (the first one is still available), but whether or not it goes to DVD is another question. We’ll wait and see.

THIS TIME FOR SURE: Signing up for the 1JZ Meeting

One-make events are generally a lot of fun, and attending the recent AE86 day at Fuji Speedway was awesome, but since it was a car that I neither own, nor have owned in the past, I was missing out on that little extra edge that the event provided.

Since my own car is a JZX100, the event to attend is the annual 1JZ Meeting held at Fuji Speedway Drift Course by four-door pro shop, ST Garage. I thought I’d posted up all of the the pics from a previous 1JZ Meeting that I attended back in 2007, but I’ve only put up a few so far, like this one and this one and this one.

As you can see, there’s some interesting stuff going on there.

When I bought the Mark II last year, the event had already been sold out for a long time, which annoyed me a bit and I didn’t actually end up going, even to watch. This year, I decided that the car would be going out there on the track no matter what. The problem was that entries to the event always sell out within a few hours of opening.

To avoid any kind of mess-ups with faxing my entry through and bank deposits, I decided to drive down to ST Garage instead and enter directly.
