I’m back in Australia again for a short break until the New Year.
Unfortunately, that means there’s not going to be a whole lot of posting going on. I have a few events lined up pretty much as soon as I get back to Japan, but until then, you’re going to have to repress your Noriyaro cravings just a little a bit.
Just to keep things interesting though, I thought we should run a little competition around here…
I’m giving away some stuff. Interested?
Don’t think I’m going to make it easy on your guys though. You’re going to have to earn these things.
First prize is a nice squarebound copy of this year’s Odaiba D1 Grand Prix weekend event guidebook, signed by the winners of the Saturday and Sunday top sixteen battles, Tsuyoshi “Tsuyopon” Tezuka and Yoshinori “Teiou” Koguchi.
Nice bit of memorabilia eh? It took me a while to get these signed, as I kept forgetting to bring them with me when I went to events, since I don’t see Tezuka that much!
At the Odaiba D1, the most interesting piece of scenery is the Fuji TV building, which serves as a backdrop to the circuit, much like Mt Fuji does at Fuji Speedway. It’s a boxy, metallic building with a big ball on one side of it.
So here’s what you’re going to have to do to win this.
Find the most interesting, weirdest or most beautiful bit of architecture or scenery in your city or town, park your car in front of it, take a photo, email it to me and tell me what it is.
It could be a creepy old abandoned mental hospital, a bronze statue of a horse with enormous balls, the middle of Times Square or a beautiful valley at sunset, but it has to be local to you. The more interesting, the better.
There’s only one prize for this one, so you’d better make it good!
The second competition is for some “Men’s Four Doors” stickers from Car Modify Wonder’s Haruyama!
First prize is three stickers, second, third fourth and fifth prize are two stickers, and sixth through to tenth prize are one metallic sticker each.
Haruyama gave me these stickers specifically to give away to you guys, so here’s what you need to do.
Take a photo of your four door car, email it, and tell me a bit about it.
It has to be a four door. Wagons and 4WDs are OK, but it needs to have two front and two rear doors. It can either be awesome and cool, like some sort of old Toyota sedan, or it can totally suck, like some rusty piece of junk your parents gave you. It doesn’t matter. As long as it looks like a car that a “four door man” would drive. Interpret that any way you like.
Final prize are two copies of Phat Sliggity DVD.
You’ve probably all seen the banner ad by now, so if you haven’t picked up a copy for yourself (at only $15.95 Australian dollars shipped anywhere in the world), you can win one here.
To win this, all you need to do is find your favourite Noriyaro wallpaper and take a photo of a monitor with one of the Noriyaro wallpapers on the screen.
I’ll send one DVD to the person with the most interesting hardware, and another to the one in the most interesting location.
It could be on your mobile phone, your desktop twin screens, or your 65-inch plasma TV Playstation 3 with full race-sim cockpit.
It could be on the desktop of a dyno-room computer, or on the big-screen at the Staples Center. I might be hoping for a bit too much there, but you never know.
Of course, all the winners will have their photos posted on the site, but I’ll blank out your numberplates or anything else you don’t want shown. It doesn’t matter if it’s a photo you took a while ago, either.
Emails can be sent to the usual address as seen in the column on the right. Just use the subject “Competition” or something like that. I’ll send you an email back to let you know I received it.
You have until the end of January!
