PERKS OF THE JOB: Papa-chan’s custom gauge panel
May 15, 2009 5:35 pmRemember Tomonori Akai’s purple AE86 hatch? After cracking the crankshaft of his 10,000rpm engine clean in half, he bought this turbo 86 we saw at Tsukuba circuit, transplanted the engine and replaced the transmission with a Toyota W55, replaced the diff with a 7.5-inch item bought from C&Y Sports.
So what happens when you run an industrial laser cutter all day? You make neat custom panels to fit your Defi gauges and other bits and pieces.

What did I write? Yeah, that was wrong…
Fixed and more info added.
actually personally im not a huge fan of a whole lot of gauges and no evidence of stock stuff.. to me it says they’ve just turned the car into a machine, rather than a can made by toyota with character… u know? but the fact they’re all defi (which look super awesome compared to other brands) is great!
@Daniel
If you look carefully, you can see through the open spaces in the alloy panel that the original cluster is still there.
