27-04-2009 1:25 amYeah, I said it. This is the perfect 180SX. Anything else beyond this point is just showing off.

25 CommentsEveryone loves a good drift girl article, so here’s some more drivers who attended last weekend’s Nikko Queen.
23 CommentsLet’s have a look at a couple of drivers that competed in Expert Class at last weekend’s Nikko Queen, Rie Shinmi in the R34, and Michiko Yasue in the bronze S14 Silvia.
14 CommentsI’m not going to bother doing a big event report on this year’s Nikko Queen event, since a lot of the stuff I shot would be more fun as part of a few mini-features, so look forward to those.
Just to get the formalities out of the way though, here are the ladies who placed in the Expert Class competition!
First Place was Akari Nagasawa. It’s rare to see anyone drive Nikko Circuit’s first corner as neatly and consistently as she did all day. A quick flick in, stomp on the brakes to settle the car and full acceleration right out wide towards the judging stand with not a single bit of visible handbrake correction.
I have something new to try next time I drive at Nikko, I think…
Keep in mind, her boyfriend is D1 Street Legal driver Hideyuki Fujino, so you can imagine the sort of conversations that go on between those two.
12 CommentsHere’s a couple of shots of Tomohiro Murayama’s newly re-shelled S14 testing at Nikko Circuit before the recent first round of D1GP at Ebisu.

8 CommentsThis car belongs to an unassuming bloke by the name of Tadashi Yanagawa. The interesting thing about him is that he can drift as fast in totally wet conditions as he can in the dry. I saw him at a recent track day at Nikko Circuit and had to have a look at his car. Surprisingly, there’s not much more to it than many other AE86s out there, but it’s still pretty damn cool.
14 CommentsEnjoy some pics of this nicely-done S15 Silvia seen at the recent FLUKE soukoukai at Nikko Circuit.
23 CommentsFull points awarded here for enthusiastic driving. Heard from the gallery were comments like “90 degree camber might be a bit too much!”
I tried making an “88 miles an hour” joke, but it turns out Doc Brown actually said 142km/h in the Japanese version of Back to the Future. I had to say “de rorian taimu mashiinu” before anyone understood.
15 CommentsWhen I lived in Australia, I used to help run a drift club (www.initialdrift.com.au) that put on track days about once a month. The circuit we used most of the time was no more than an hour’s drive away from most people in Sydney, yet you’d still hear the occasional whinger complain about the distance.
This S14 Silvia belongs to a girl named Michiko. She drove about 500km/310 miles from Nagoya to Utsunomiya to drift at Nikko Circuit, then drove back home the same day.
