16 CommentsIt seems a lot of you remember when I posted this preview a while ago of the “Hachido Rokubu Kanari Juushou” event on the 6th of August last year. Well, the best photos ended up being published in Drift Tengoku, and I ended up completely forgetting about the rest!
The “Hachido Rokubu Kanari Juushou” name of the event literally translated means “8.6° Severe Illness”, but the meaning is more along the lines of “I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is some more AE86!”
So for today, let’s look at the pits. Tomorrow, action from the track. The day after, Hachiroku weirdness and cool stuff.

18 CommentsRemember this car? It’s back.
Sort of.
It has the same engine, at least.
15 CommentsRemember Goto-san’s AE86? Here’s another couple of contenders for the title of “Most Busted AE86 Drift Car” that I saw at Okegawa earlier this week.
15 CommentsRemember Asayan’s sweet Levin coupe? Here’s some pics of it at last weekend’s HitomiGO day at Suzuka Twin Circuit.
Most of the day was wet and miserable, but at the end of the day, the sun came out just enough for me to do a “Linhbergh” as they are known in the trade.
19 CommentsAs I mentioned a couple of posts ago, Autosalon week meant visiting a lot of different places around Tokyo. Since the majority of the people I was with had never been to Tokyo, I thought the Toyota Megaweb and Toyota History Garage in Odaiba might be a good place to visit.
Nice little display eh? A mint red Levin they used to display beside the FT-86 a couple of months ago, Toyohisa Matsuda’s old competition car and Takumi’s toufu-ten replica, complete with tofu shop!
I think there was a mint Hakosuka off to the left as well. The Toyota History Garage is always fun.
14 CommentsMy friend Shino from Shino Kouba garage intended to spend the last couple of days practicing at Ebisu Circuit’s Higashi Course.
Unfortunately, this happened on the fourth lap of the day. Goto-san had suggested that she might want to try a fourth-gear entry on the main straight, something she’s never tried before. Sometimes not trying hard enough with an initiation can be as bad as trying too hard, according to Shino.
While the crash happened at about 140km/h from a 160km/h entry, Shino got away with just a sore neck and shoulders, and she already has another slightly rusty shell ready for all the unbroken parts to be installed in. I hope she’s not making a habit of crashing hachis…
