Kind of obvious, really.

Doesn’t look half bad though.

  1. Wow… Looks killer!

  2. yes yes yes! wats on this car would be the coolest thing ever. I’d have it in the white/black combo however with the same charcoal color on the wheels.

  3. Looks hot even!!

  4. Yiss i also quite enjoyed the tingly sensation in my lower extremities when i saw this. they should definitely consider bringing back the panda paint scheme!

  5. OHSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is Super Sik! I liked the FT-86, but this just made me fall for it even more :DROOOOOOOOL:

  6. I dig it.

  7. That is how it should be produced. All panda’s !

  8. Not sure if i dig it. Something about those headlights..

  9. looks awesome, needs a more modern wheel though

  10. I’ll have 10

  11. looks amazingu. hopefully this car wont be hyped like the civic si (ewwww) or sti/evo where alot of people drive them

  12. wow looks mean as

  13. this looks blood unreal alexi. i would definately drive one that looked close to that

  14. how much would it costs in japan when it comes out? it’s a cool looking car but with the boxer engine, making more power will be a challenge.

  15. I dig it. This is gonna be A LOT OF HYPE!

  16. Porno! proof that watanabe type-r’s are timeless.

  17. if only they released it like that

  18. It’s like a small FT-HS, so it looks good, and the 86 color scheme + WATS…
But the roof looks a bit too R35 GT-R to me though ( I’m a big fan of the hatchback shape of the 86) , and the LED daytime running lights aren’t well integrated.

    Great ideas but needs refining…

  19. would be really cool if they build that car, not just as a prototype.
    subaru engine, huh? :D

  20. wow i love it

couple years time this wil be a reality

  21. good god yes!

  22. i was reading in a magazine at borders, i think it was car & driver, not 100% sure. However, the article said that it would go into production in 2011, and rumored to be priced around $20K. I plan on saving some cash up to buy this! =)

  23. Not sure the traditional “panda” 2-tone works with the new body lines…
R-type Watanabes would also be tricky to accomodate with large brakes and high offset,
and 17-18″ just don’t look as proportional as 14-15″, unless they’re 10J+ neg offset.

  24. Congratulations. You just wrote the most boring comment that’s ever been made on this site…

Also, if I’d have known that taking photos of magazine covers with a mobile phone was all I had to do, I wouldn’t have bothered to buy that bloody big camera I use for other posts.

  25. teh100pointer says:

How much this magazine costs in Japan?

  26. Glad I could be of service ;) Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a cool concept. Just not sure it would work in reality.
I’m all for nostaglia, but the new car deserves some fresh styling to make it iconic in it’s own right. (This coming from a hachiroku head)

  27. highsociety says:

Awsome looks, will bve in the high 30s. Looks drifytable??

  28. Damn, like it! But as some above said, subaru engine, wtf? Toyota n/a engine will be cool.

  29. Who were you replying to Alexi? lol

  30. am i the only one who wants flip lights back still? :*(

  31. you aren’t alone, fc chan.

  32. You are not alone on the flip headlights. In fact, I still can’t see my old AE86 in this car… This is a brand new design, not an old design being modernise… like the new Camaro or Mustang. Those 2 did a great job on that.

  33. so need a version with popup lights.. man i miss them in ‘modern’ cars =(

if they offer it in panda i can imagine so many 100’s of them in white/black rolling out.. personally i’d sell my 34 for one in black, slammed, good rims + 2JZ swap… or something sick like that =D

  34. As any other remake its doesnt give a feel of old 86../
It sure looks pretty nice, far better then previous concept of it and it wont be just a shopping cart i might give it a try.
P.S Panda scheme is quite natural with this car btw.
