Written on the tank in marker, it says “chinpo rengo”, which could translate to “Cock Alliance”.

Most of the other bikes at the shoot were more traditional bosozoku rides.

The most popular models are old sub-400cc twins and fours from the late 70’s and early 80’s, like the Honda Hawk and CBX400F, Yamaha RZ250, Suzuki GS450 and Kawasaki Zephyr.

Imperial themes are commonly used on the bikes, such as on this tank, which has a kamikaze poem written on it…

…and the rising sun flag.

The rising sun over Mt Fuji is probably the most classic helmet design.

Notice the spare bottle of oil in the drink holder. Most of these old bikes tend to smoke pretty well.

This one looked like it was modified a long time ago, and hasn’t been messed with much since.

The little character on the keychain is Pipo-kun, the mascot of the Japanese police (“pipo” being the sound of a police siren).

Just like on the cars, takeyari (bamboo spear) exhausts are also fitted to some of the bikes.
