GOODYEAR GURACHAN D: Nikko Circuit competition, Part II

For today’s post, let’s have a look at some of the competitors who ran in the twin drift competition at Gurachan D, like the guys from Team Funky.

These two NA Sprinters looked quite slow compared to the other cars there, but had a great old-school look to them. They would have been the best there about ten years ago.

Check out Manki Ito’s party trick. Watch the rear door on the Mark II.

Still watching?

Ta-da!

Ladies and gentlemen, a black mark appears from nowhere!

As is usual, most of the cars running were unmatched pairs.

The Tokonatsu Factory cars really look great when driving together.

Different enough to be unique, but with a similar style.

I don’t really like using superlatives like “one of the best” or “the world’s best” as my days working at car magazines made me realise how much we over-use these kinds of words.

But I don’t care.

Behold, some of the world’s best twin drifting ever performed, ever.

That’s Rui Andou in the S14 and Shigeru Takahashi in the S15 from Team Fazz

I think it’s pretty obvious by now who won the tandem competition!

How close did they get? That close.

So, how about rubbing it on the fender next time?
