I guess that wing is ok….would much rather it not be there though. Reply Luke says: August 15, 2009 at 4:48 pm Its good to see nice clean 86’s for once, very nice car. Reply Anton says: August 15, 2009 at 5:12 pm looks clean as, im sure that wing serves a purpose…. also has anyone got the old and new times as wll as the car that set them so we can get an idea of just how fast this thing is Reply Bry says: August 15, 2009 at 6:04 pm Its made to go fast, hence the wing. It’s there for a reason, function over form. Reply leongsoon says: August 15, 2009 at 7:40 pm The wing bugs me a bit, but yea, function over form here. Must be the best looking Trueno I’ve ever seen too! Another 50 pics of this car is very welcome, thank you very much! Reply Kolbotn says: August 15, 2009 at 7:45 pm Sweet Hachi! Reply GenJi says: August 15, 2009 at 8:28 pm that bodykit kinda reminds me of that purple corolla Tec-Art had .. exept for the backside :D.. Reply Dug Willis says: August 15, 2009 at 11:08 pm Shut up you clowns this is the CBY ae86! of course it will have intense downforce and aerodynamics. I wish they had one shot of the underside of the car. Reply Warren says: August 16, 2009 at 12:33 am The wing look nice on it! Its properly done, although I prefer the wing on the Tec-arts D1 86. Reply joe says: August 16, 2009 at 5:46 am yea it does look like tec-arts, but from the looks of it this one isnt as wide, and doesn’t have such an aggressive front end Reply Paul 8v says: August 16, 2009 at 8:30 am That looks awesome! Any more details of it anywhere? Reply BlueSlug says: August 16, 2009 at 10:00 am 1920×1200 desktop shot of it at 大黒ふ頭パーキング courtesy of Dino Dalle Carbonare: http://speedhunters.com/cfs-filesystemfile.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Components.PostAttachments/00.00.04.04.60/CBYhi.jpg i love the way this thing looks! Reply KyShro says: August 16, 2009 at 1:38 pm Love love love it! It is my favorite N2 AE86….. The CBY fenders, front bumper, sideskirts are perfect. Only thing I would change is the rear bumper. Should put in a Run Free rear bumper and it would be my dream car. Reply drift kid says: August 16, 2009 at 4:51 pm does that thing have neg camber on the rear wheels? it looks like it in this pic a bit http://noriyaro.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/noriyaro_crystal_body_yokohama_AE86_004.jpg Reply q says: August 17, 2009 at 12:30 am I believe the record was previously held by Kameda-sans black Levin 3 door correct? What is the new record? Reply Steve says: August 17, 2009 at 6:02 pm gotta luv a spoonta with fatness. no under-bonnet pics Alexi??? 🙁 Reply Alexi says: August 18, 2009 at 2:48 am @drift kid People used to bend the axle housings of RX-7s to get a bit of rear camber, didn’t they? I’m not sure if this car has that though. @q I know this car recently broke a lap record of some sort…I’m just not sure where. I was really sleepy at this event! @Steve Like I said…I was really sleepy and forgot to do some things. Reply Kid Karola says: August 18, 2009 at 6:25 am Love this thing more than ever with the deep Watanabe’s! Much more better than the old BuddyClub P1’s or 17’s. Yes the diff housing has been modified by cutting and welding to acheive a small amount of rear camber. http://www.cby.jp/hachiroku/img/img02.jpg Reply garage_86 says: August 18, 2009 at 10:41 am custom altezza 6spd trans on this puppy Reply garage_86 says: August 18, 2009 at 10:44 am new record is by garage KMS wooden village levin coupe at tsukuba.. ..followed by Works Kitokito trueno carb fuel injected ..garage Ai and tec arts cheater seq trans comin close Kameda tried to sell his black car at ebay ..also Kaneko red levin coupe has been out for while Reply Kid Karola says: August 18, 2009 at 10:31 pm New record at Nikko circuit? Was it previously held by Techno Pro Spirit’s Taro? Reply Alexi says: August 19, 2009 at 2:10 am @Kid Karola Something like that. Like I said, I didn’t find out! I’ll ask… Reply Cyprez says: August 21, 2009 at 3:29 am I think i am in love. Reply Kid Karola says: August 26, 2009 at 8:10 pm According to the Nikko Circuit website: http://www.nikko-circuit.jp/base6.html (last updated February 3, 2009?) 4-Wheeled Vehicle Course Record (Until January 30, 2009 old course, From January 31, 2009 new course) N. Kameda (AE86 N2) with Racing Slicks 38.576 (March 19, 2000) A very long standing lap time indeed! 😉 From the CBY Blog: http://blog.livedoor.jp/cb_yokohama/archives/2009-08.html Results from Nikko on Hachi-Roku Day: 38.148 (August 6, 2009) also with Slicks Quite impressive result for the little NA Sprinter Trueno, compared to the times of the 4WD and Turbo boys also listed; Evo 6, GTS-T and FC3S (on A048 and R1R tyres) Guess they can’t quite stretch their legs enough on the tight and twisty “Sunshine Circuit” :’D Reply Kid Karola says: September 3, 2009 at 4:26 am After some more mining… At Nikko on “hachi-roku day” 2007 (well August 5), Toshio “Taro” Kumakura from Techno Pro Spirits finished on top with a p.b. laptime of 41.9 (S Tyres) but not a record time. http://www.tp-spirit.co.jp/workscar/menu.html Some pics thanks to Miguel from New Era in this thread: http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/pictures-corolla-ae86-celebration-nikko-circuit-2856k-no29/t/5496 Reply Leave a Reply to Steve Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
