GIVE ME GAS MONEY: Drift tourists without the funny accents

July 19, 2009 12:30 am Published by

These two happy chaps, Dave and Devin, are AE86 guys from Canada. Dave sent me an email a while ago saying they were coming to Japan, and luckily for them, our schedules meant that I was able to give them some rides to various places to see interesting things, like Ebisu Circuit, SS Park and Honjo Circuit. As you can see, they’re standing in a place that looks like a lot of fun.

Devin even makes a bunch of custom parts for AE86 under the name “D Garage”, so I’m sure he’ll comment with some contact info if there’s anyone here who’s interested!

That oyaji gyagu made me smile!
I think I saw that corner on some youtube videos!

  • Dave’s not debu yet… but word is he just picked up a cushy job and once he’s racking $ and can actually afford to buy food he might just pack on the pounds. Or maybe he’ll just dump it all into his 86.

wewt, fellow canucks! i was planning a trip to .jp this year, but budget cuts have put that out of the picture for the time being 🙁

looks like they’re on a very fun road though! i don’t suppose you’d divulge the location, eh Alexi? 😛

I just had my random tourists from Australia.
Ben, Damo and Steve from Brisbane turned out to be top blokes. We toured Akagi, Haruna (Akina), Nikko Circuit and Happogohara Touge. Epic weekend.

    Hey man!
Thanks again for hooking us up, we had a blast. Wouldn’t have been the same trip without ya.
My fiendings for all night touge drifting and convini-breakfasts are still strong as ever. WTF! Do these ever go away??

On another note, Shino’s Gameshow episode aired on Canadian TV the other week, and I was like ‘Hey! I know her!’ lol.

Hope you had fun in Oz, and keep practicing. Your driving is wicked!

PS: Post up the ‘Oh solly!’ video. Its genius and everyone here wants to see it…

I enjoy Dave’s face and mannerisms in this picture.

Devin looks like a 3 year old getting an ice cream cone for the first time.

Those roads look freaking sick too!
