THAT SH*T WILL BUFF OUT: Silvia and Roadster t-bone crash at Okegawa Circuit

So here’s what happened.

A train of missile cars in an Expert Class session, led by D1 drivers Daigo Saito and Yukio Matsui, drifted into the first corner at Okegawa Circuit, a small go-kart-style track in Saitama Prefecture. The S13 driver, who was at the back of the group, came in a little bit too hot and was unable to see a stationary Mazda that had spun out just moments before. I’ll let the following pictures speak for themselves.

The Roadster took a square-on hit to the back, but was able to drive away. Notice the dent made by the Silvia’s wheel. The class that the cars were driving in should really have been called “Nobody Ever Backs Off Class”, as at least half of them were missile cars.

The Silvia had to be towed off the track, but after some broken arms were fixed, it was back out again later in the day. After that little incident, not many people seemed willing to wait in the dirt for a clear opening for them to get back out on the track. It was more a case of jam it in whatever gear was appropriate for the direction you were facing, and floor it.

There was another notable event of carnage at this New Year’s Eve event, but that will have to wait until next week.

the silvia driver is quite lucky :O
if the roadster had impacted one or two more feet towards the front of the car he’d be in different shape to say the least

holly christ! Is it just the case of you pay for your own car to be fixed on the track there? If so.. unlucky for the mazda owner 🙁

Do gay people in japan drive roadsters as well?

having only recently discovered “missile” drifting on late night Japanese language youtube browsing ive found a new love in drifting i wish damaged import bodies were that abundant here in aus

unlucky to be that roadster driver it didn’t look like a missile car in fact it looks pretty much the opposite

cnt wait for the rest of this story

    holy shit!

i’m surprized these guys dony use half cages at least, sure the silvia seemed to hold up alright without any bracing but i know it’d make me more comfortable going balls out like that. the driver only just escaped injury by about 1 foot!

wonder about the whiplash the MX5 driver got.
    Looks brand new from here!

That crash goes to show how tough S13’s really are. Poor Miata, also. That drifter in the S13 is a real warrior… a few hours, a repaired rear arm, and the Silvia is back again, drifting. AWESOME. 🙂
